ManiBoom Guide to the Curly Method
You can take care of your curly hair and achieve beautiful, voluminous waves. The method is all about cleansing, moisturising and defining your hair naturally. To do this, you should apply this weekly cleansing and care routine, space out your wash days and deeply nourish your hair.
Washing routine
Step 1: Last wash
Start your routine for your perfect curly hair with the ''Last Wash'' step. This involves washing your hair with a sulphate shampoo, but without silicones, in order to completely remove the build-up of silicones and other chemicals in your hair.
Step 2: Curly Deep Clean Shampoo (Low Poo)
After the last wash, every time you wash your hair you should wash it with Curly Deep Cleansing Shampoo, which is totally free of sulphates, parabens, silicones and other chemicals.
The frequency of washing will depend on your hair type. We recommend spacing it out as much as possible and washing it only 1-2 times a week, in order to retain as much of your scalp's natural moisture as possible.
Step 3: Curly Maximum Moisture Mask
The mask keeps your scalp's natural moisture intact.
To do this, wet your hair and apply the mask. Massage well and perform a squis to condish (with damp hair, scrunch your hair towards the roots) distributing the product for 3 to 5 minutes. Leave it on for 30 minutes to 2 hours, allowing the mask to penetrate and hydrate the hair strands.
Step 4: Curlynice Curl Activator
The first step to defining your curls, also known as plopping, is about removing moisture from your hair with a microfibre towel, avoiding frizz and leaving it to dry for about 15 minutes to half an hour.
Then, apply Curlynice making MULLI MULLI (squeeze the hair from the ends to the roots) and let it act. Important at this step you don't need to rinse your hair.
Step 5: Drying
As the method completely avoids blow-drying, the ideal is to let your hair air-dry.
If it's winter or if you don't want to do without a blow dryer, you can use a cold diffuser on low or medium heat and don't use it for more than 20 minutes.
Once it is dry and defined, we advise you to do the SOCT which is the same step as MULLI MULLI (from ends to roots) but with the hair already dry. This will help you to break the cast (stiffness) that your hair can produce.
This way you will be ready and you will have ideal and voluminous curls ready to go out
